The XCMG XZ5000 horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machine adopts an integrated self-loaded design for higher construction efficiency and convenience. It is equipped with advanced and patented technologies including electro-hydraulic proportional control and load-sensitive control, which greatly improve operation accuracy and energy efficiency.
With its core performance indicators and intelligent control technology reaching the international advanced level, this HDD rig provides stable and reliable performance for large-scale trenchless construction projects.
The key components of the hydraulic system and other core systems are all selected from world-famous brands, ensuring excellent quality, high durability and long service life under heavy working conditions.
The digital display system directly shows key construction parameters such as rotation torque and push-pull force. It overcomes the disadvantage that traditional drilling machines require manual conversion of pressure gauge readings, enabling simple and intuitive operation for operators, which greatly improves construction efficiency.
The power head rotation torque and push-pull force overload protection system adopts electronic sensing technology, featuring fast response and high reliability. The rotation torque and push-pull force can be accurately preset according to construction needs. Meanwhile, the reliable floating of the power head spindle effectively protects the drill pipe thread, significantly extending the service life of the drill pipe.
Equipped with a dual-power system, the machine adopts Volvo EFI engines, and either engine can independently complete all operations of the HDD rig. It is also equipped with multi-gear stepless speed regulation technology, which allows flexible adaptation to a wide range of geological conditions and effectively reduces construction costs for users.
The sliding of the drilling frame is driven by a hydraulic cylinder, and the adjustment of the penetration angle is simple, convenient and safe. This design ensures precise positioning during construction and improves the accuracy of trenchless drilling operations.
The three-cylinder vise ensures reliable clamping of the drill pipe and provides large unscrewing torque. The full-range floating design of the vise facilitates casing construction, enhancing the adaptability of the machine in complex foundation projects.
Adopting multi-pump combination and split flow control technology, the machine maximizes engine power utilization, achieving energy saving and fuel efficiency. It integrates multiple advanced energy-saving control technologies, including load-sensitive control and electro-hydraulic proportional control. All imported hydraulic and electrical components ensure stable performance and reliable quality, supporting long-term heavy-duty operation.
The XZ5000 HDD adopts self-propelled chassis with steel track to ensure good site adaptability and high reliability. Imported walking reducer ensures stable and reliable performance.

4、 Electrical System
The electrical system is equipped with electrical startup button, fuse box and power master switch.
In consideration of construction features of horizontal directional drilling rigs, the system adopts advanced intelligent control technology and CAN bus technology, and the display of each instrument is clear for easy observation.
Displayer with large size and high resolution can automatically display the actual push-pull force and rotation torque during the construction.
PLC control technology realizes the monitoring and alarm of engine speed, water temperature, oil pressure, hydraulic oil level and temperature, oil return filtration, power head limit, etc. and fault self-diagnosis function, which makes the maintenance convenient.
Wire-controlled walking realizes stepless adjustment of speed, which ensures convenient operations and safe transfer.
The multi-gear control and stepless speed regulation of rotation and push-pull make the machine suitable for a wide range of geological strata.

5、 Drilling Frame
The front rocker arm and the rear support cylinder work together to realize luffing, and the angle adjustment operation is simple and the adjusting range is wide.
Welded drilling frame of high-strength steel with standard bracket can realize automatic centering of drill pipe, ensuring easy operations. The sliding of drilling frame is driven by cylinder, making the angle adjustment convenient.

6、 Power Head
The machine completes push-pull actions through rack-and-pinion. Power head spindle floating technology effectively protects drill pipe threads and variable motor realizes high-speed push-pull. The push-pull force can be adjusted steplessly according to working conditions to protect drill pipes.

7、 Vise
The HDD is fitted with rotatable, self-centering and powerful vise for screw off, making the clamping of drill pipe stable. The vise can be moved integrally on the drilling frame to facilitate the construction method of the casing. The front and rear vises can slide relatively, which provides good view to the operator and makes the maintenance and changing of vise jaw convenient.

10、 Drill Pipe and Drilling Tools (Optional)
Standard oil drill pipe or double top drill pipe special for non-excavation projects can be chosen. The cutting & expanding type, squeezing & expanding type, channel type or other special reamers with diameter ranging from 300mm to 1500mm are optional. Users can also choose short joints, transfer cases, etc. of other types and specifications according to their needs.
